France’s L’Equipe reported highlights of the list, which was revealed by Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport. Topping the list with EUR 6.5 million is Roma’s midfielder Daniele De Rossi, followed by Naples’ offensive player, Argentina’s Gonzalo Higuain, earning EUR 5.5 million a year.
French Paul Pogba, Juventus superstar, came in third with a yearly salary of EUR 4.5 million. The midfielder is regarded as one of the most sought after soccer players in the world. He was a great asset to Juventus last season. Pogba is the French player making the most money within Series A.
Besides his EUR 4.5 million salary, the Juventus star could proudly say he is wanted by the best European teams. Multiple sources report that Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester United have expressed interest in signing him.
Other players on the list of Series A yearly earnings include Roma’s Edin Dzeko with EUR 4.5 million, Piedmont’s Sami Khedira and Gianluigi Buffon with EUR 4 million.
According to La Gazzetta, the second highest paid French athlete in Series A is Inter Milan’s player, Geoffrey Kondogbia, who makes EUR 3.5 million per season.
