Rabat – Welsh football superstar, Gareth Bale, is not going anywhere. The skilled left-winger is reportedly happy and looking forward to a successful future with Real Madrid. He wants to stay in Madrid in hopes of winning the Ballon d’Or.
According to UK’s daily Express, Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, has openly shared his client’s wishes saying: “He loves it there and he badly wants to see Real Madrid and himself achieve certain targets”.
Following, the player’s less than outstanding second season at the Bernabeu, he is “happy again”. It is suggested Madrid’s new manager Rafa Benítez’s decision to give him a “freer role” has lots to do with the athlete’s mood.
Supporting his client’s decision, Barnett said:“Real is the best club in the world so why would anyone want to leave them?”
In a previous statement at the Soccerex convention in Manchester, Barnett said it was true that Bale did not have a great time during the second season due to barely getting the ball and suffering criticisms from Ronaldo’s fans.
Bale’s agent explained that during the second season, “their first thought was always to give it [the ball] to Ronaldo, which is understandable and every time it went the other way it was hard for Gareth”.
Allegedly, Gareth Bale has overcome this frustration and is looking forward to playing under Rafa’s philosophy at the Spanish club. Barnett explained how a new approach “playing more centrally, more like the freedom he was for Wales” will help Bale.
“Rafa’s going to give him that. And he enjoys that role because he was getting a little frustrated. And as long as he scores the goals and the team does well it is easier to accept”, he said.
