Rabat – Police officers suspected of covering the activities of drug traffickers who were arrested in July in Fez will face trial for their crimes.
An investigation conducted by the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ) under the General Directorate of the National Territory Monitoring found evidence confirming suspicious connections between the drug traffickers and the accused police officers in Fez.
Following the arrest of a group of drug dealers in July in Fez, investigations revealed that the police officers in question received bribes to cover the drug dealers’ criminal activities.
A statement from BCIJ published on Wednesday by the Maghreb Arab Press (MAP) indicated that the police officers who were allegedly involved in these criminal activities, will be brought before the General Public Prosecutor at the Appeal Court of Fez, which supervises all the procedures and stages of this case.
