Rabat – In a pure Morinho style, the FC Chelsea manager has lashed out at his critics following a 3-1 defeat at Everton this Saturday, saying no manager could match his records at the Stamford Bridge.
Everton sent Chelsea crashing to their third Premier League defeat of the season on Saturday as striker Steven Naismith scored a hat-trick, in a 3-1 win.
The result left the champions with only four points from their opening five matches, marking their worst start since 1988.
This is the worst start to a season by any side defending the English Premier League title since its inception in 1992, British media reacted to Chelsea’s defeat.
Meanwhile, Mourinho said he was still the champion and that there was no manager who could do a better job at Chelsea than him.
BT Sports quoted Morinho as saying that Chelsea played for more than they got today and deserved a far better result. But because things aren’t going their way right now, his players are short of confidence and are being punished for every mistake they make right now.
“I know that now it’s easy for everybody to criticise me and the players and [say] ‘everything is wrong’. I completely disagree,” he argued.
“I am the champion, the players are the champions. The way they are playing is not so bad as the results. “
“I don’t think there is a better manager than me to come to Chelsea and to do my job. That’s as simple as that. I’m the man for the job,” Morinho concluded.
