Rabat – Brazilian player, Neymar, has said that Manchester United sough to sign during the last summer window transfer.
In an interview with ESPN Brasil, Neymar pointed out: “There were talks but nothing concrete. There were rumors but I did not receive any offer.”
ESPN Brasil asked Neymar about his short-term goals during this football season and his career’s general outlook.
“I hope this will be a year of dreams. I want to continue my work, with my teammates, and keep winning titles” he expressed.
Barcelona’s forward player seems determined and committed to achieving some major goals in his football career. “I want to evolve season to season to be at least among the three finalists for the Golden Ball. I hope this is the year,” he said.
Media compares Neymar’s goal scoring skills with Argentinian sports star Lionel Messi in the past, sparking an alleged competition between both players.
The Brazilian star said in previous statements to Sky Sports that “Messi is above everyone…He is the best player in the world and I always get inspired when I watch good football”.
Following in Messi’s footsteps, Neymar feels that he will be ready to take the spotlight and possibly win the Ballon d’Or.
Neither United’s manager Louis Van Gaal, nor Barcelona’s Luis Enrique have commented on Neymar’s transfer talks.
