Rabat – Former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen will only consider replacing Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool if he is given full control over who comes and goes at the club, meaning an end to the club’s transfer committee.
The 48-year-old who took time away from football after leaving Borussia Dortmund in May, has been linked with a stunning appointment at Anfield to replace Brendan Rodgers.
A report by The Daily Mail claims that the German tactician made it clear he would only be interested in ending his sabbatical by taking a job at Anfield if he is the unanimous choice for the position.
The report also claims that Klopp demanded full control over the club’s transfer policy, if appointed Liverpool’s new manager.
The transfer committee has come under tremendous scrutiny over the past few seasons, with many fans believing it has wasted money.
In 2014, Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana, Lazar Markovic and Mario Balotelli cost £84 million combined – but none are even guaranteed starters, with the latter two currently out on loan.
Multiple British media reports said Klopp who had taken Dortmund to two Bundesliga titles and a Champions League final, is in a strong position to negotiate.
