Rabat – Leonardo Jardim, AS Monaco manager, feels proud of the stellar performances that his former player Anthony Martial is having with Manchester United.
The Portuguese coach said he is not a bit shocked by the French forward’s talent because Monaco trained him to be successful.
“We worked with Anthony Martial on his physical and mental attributes. I’m not surprised by his performances,” said Jardim, according to Omnisport.
Monaco’s boss confirmed the hard work the French club puts into the development and evolution of their squad not only while they play for the team, but also training them for the future.
“We work hard to make sure our young players reach the top European level,” he stressed.
Leonardo Jardim’s words might not be far from the true, as Martial is reaching “European level” with Manchester United.
The French forward has brought the spice the Red Devils needed on the pitch, earning congratulatory words by his teammates.
The 19-year-old sensation is United’s No. 9 striker playing on first-team. Martial has scored 4 goals in his first 4 matches and assisted his teammates with 2 other key-winning goals for his new home club.
The French forward become the most expensive teenage in football history when Manchester United purchased him for a whopping EUR 80 million transferring from AS Monaco during last summer’s transfer window.
