Marrakech – Morocco’s Ministry of Culture is organizing the seventh annual National Festival of Theater in Tetouan from October 29 to November 5, 2015.
The event is an occasion to celebrate distinct theatrical creations and different artistic competencies. It will also be an opportunity for the audience to learn the highlights of the theatrical season and meet Moroccan creative artists through presentations, seminars, and meetings.
The members of the Culture Ministry formed several committees along with a group of creative artists to supervise the selection of festival shows, the preparation of logistical and organizational aspects, and setting the opening and closing ceremonies.
Twelve plays are selected to participate in the official competition of the festival, while nineteen plays will be presented in parallel with the festival activities.
The event will also hold hearings to discuss the competition plays, an intellectual seminar on the character of Abd-Samad El Kenfaoui, a professional seminar on the aspects of professionalism, organization, and development of support mechanisms.
Formative workshops will also be organized for the benefit of youth and theater amateurs, in addition to the signing of a set of compositions and new theatrical works.
The National Festival of Theater will grant many prizes, including Playwright Award, Male and Female Character Award, and Grand Prix Award.
