Meknes – Palestinian artist Monther Jawabreh’s exhibition is at Villa des Arts, in Casablanca until October 15.
Based on his current exhibition under the title ‘What is Known’, the painter symbolizes the concept of resistance and a research on the persona of Palestinian activists.
Monther is known for his tenacious patriotism and his burning desire to present Palestinian revolution iconographies.
He believes that resistance is a human reaction to violence and hindrances, which Palestinians experience, he also considers that resistance a way to stay committed as a freedom fighter.
The artist-activist aims to convey current Palestinians’ dire circumstances and inspiring activism for freedom through his contemporary artworks. For example, when Israeli terrorists in Gaza killed over 450 toddlers, he drew a collection of portraits of them.
Monther was born in 1976, in Al-Aroub refugee camp in Palestine. He graduated from Al-Najah National University, in Nablus in 2001.
The patriotic painter has had numerous exhibitions in his country and abroad. He also took part in several collective exhibitions and workshops in Middle East and Europe.
