The suspect violently assaulted the city’s Central Commissioner several times before being taken into custody, according to a statement issued by the Oujda Police Department, cited by H24 info news.
The 33-year-old Moroccan woman, whose name was not disclosed, stormed through the Oujda Police Department, entered the office of the Central Commissioner, pulled out a knife that was concealed under her clothes, and stabbed the senior police officer numerous times, the statement noted.
The perpetrator injured the official in an alleged act of retaliation to avenge her brother who was sentenced to prison after being accused of an attempt of premeditated murder against the same Commissioner.
According to the same source, the accused woman was immediately detained and taken into custody at police headquarters and is awaiting an investigation led by the Public Prosecutor.
The victim, the Central Commissioner who was seriously injured, remains under medical supervision, the statement concluded.
