New York – French President François Hollande and United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon gave warm welcome to King Mohammed VI of Morocco on Monday in Paris, but refrained from receiving Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
Over 130 heads of state are taking part in the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP21) being held in Le Bourget, Paris.
A video footage of an Egyptian channel covers the arrival of the world leaders in the venue of the conference. The video shows French President Hollande and UN Ban Ki-moon greeting and taking pictures with King Mohammed VI.
However, when Eyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi arrived, President Hollande and Ban Ki-moon where nowhere to be found. El-Sisi was simply ignored by both leaders.
A news anchor of Egyptian TV show is heard saying, “I can’t see French President Hollande. He was there just a few moments ago welcoming other heads of state.”
The 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP 21 is being held in Paris, from November 30 to December 11.
The Paris Conference is the 21st yearly session of the Conference of the Parties to the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the 11th session of the Meeting of the Parties to the 1997 Kyoto Protocol.
