The sensual singer experienced a warm welcome by her fans in authentic Moroccan style carried on an “Amaria” (Moroccan wedding carriage), according to Telquel.
A video published on YouTube shows the moment in which Haifa is transported on top of an “Amaria” and traditional Moroccan music in front of dozens of her fans cheering her arrival at the airport.
The controversial singer posted a self-video on Thursday morning telling her Moroccan fans “I love you all”, “wait for me”, “I’ll see you at the Scénario” at Ain Diab.
Her visit to Morocco has been subject to criticism due to the fact that she refused to perform at the Dakhla Festival in Morocco’s southern provinces, claiming that she did not identify with the festival.
Her comments allegedly stirred uproar, for which her representatives later justified her by saying, “Singer Haifa Wehbe has not insulted the city of Dakhla or the festival. She just declined the invitation because it did not meet her financial requirements”.
She was also criticized by Moroccan sheikh, Mohammed Fizazi who declared “You are not welcome in Morocco”, and urged Moroccans to denounce her visit promoting “No for Wehbe’s visit to sully Moroccan soil”.
However, the Arabic celebrity and her fans have reportedly disregarded all negative remarks and her visit to Morocco has been welcomed with great hospitality.
