Abu Dhabi - The United Arab Emirates has contributed some €750 million to the Wessal fund for the promotion of Moroccan tourism, established in 2011 by Morocco, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, said Moroccan tourism minister, Lahcen Haddad.
Abu Dhabi – The United Arab Emirates has contributed some €750 million to the Wessal fund for the promotion of Moroccan tourism, established in 2011 by Morocco, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, said Moroccan tourism minister, Lahcen Haddad.
The minister told UAE ”Al Ittihad” daily that the 2.5 billion Euro-fund has so far launched tourism projects worth over 1.5 billion Euros in Casablanca, Rabat and Tangiers.
After highlighting the importance of UAE investments in the Moroccan tourism sector, Haddad said this gulf country has become a major stakeholder in regional and international tourism markets.
The exceptional economic and political relations linking Morocco and the United Arab Emirates are driving the development of bilateral cooperation in tourism, said the minister who noted that the air links between the two countries are also attracting more tourists from the UAE.
