Rabat – Algerian authorities are searching for three terrorists who attempted to target a theatre in the northeastern city of Annaba, where Rai Singer Cheb Khaled was performing.
Alarabiya’s correspondent in Algeria reported that the terrorists were planning to strike a concert of Cheb Khaled at the Annaba Theatre this Wednesday.
According to the same source, the terrorists are currently being hunted by three Algerian army units at the entrance of Annaba, 598 kilometers from the city of Algiers.
A separate report by Russia Today cited Algerian media sources as saying that the Algerian army successfully thwarted the attack, but were unable to arrest the terrorists.
The same source added that Algerian army units were deployed at the entrances of the city.
Multiple Algerian media reports suggest that the terrorists infiltrated to Annaba from the Eastern borders of Algeria.
Algerian authorities have not yet issued any statement regarding the incident.
The northeastern city where the whereabouts of the terrorists are suspected is hosting the Annaba Festival of Mediterranean Cinema, which began on December 4
