New York – American Christian extremist and right-wing ultra conservative Pat Robertson said Islam is “not a religion but a military group bent on world domination.”
The controversial Southern Baptist Christian who has made a fortune and become a media mogul through his own Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) and various television shows, gave one of the most Islamophobic statements bashing the entire Muslim faith.
In a video posted on Tuesday by Right Wing Watch News, which reports on “extreme rhetoric and activities of key right-wing figures and organizations showing their views in their own words,” Robertson slams Islam and its values.
“Islam is a political system that is intent on world domination,” Robertson said on his own television show “The 700 Club.”
“It isn’t a, quote, religion as such. It is a political system masquerading as a religion,” he stressed.
According to him, Muslims seek to “take over the world and murder those that do not convert to its political system”.
“The world is divided in two parts – the world of Islam and the world of unbelievers” whom are obligated to convert or otherwise are “put to the sword,” he continued.
The former presidential candidate also referred to Islam as an “aggressive military discipline”, which seeks to dominate the world as he repeated several times in less than his two-minute broadcast.
The 85-year-old extremist said we are allowed to “discriminate against Islam because its intent according to him is “dominating you and killing you”.
After he finished offending the 1.6 billion Muslims around the world, he went on to shame the other 2 billion Christians by contrasting Christianity with Islam and giving some historically erroneous facts.
“Christianity isn’t intent on dominating and killing people — it just isn’t,” Robertson affirmed.
“It’s a peaceful exercise for the soul. It isn’t intent on setting up a government with a specific kind of oppressive law called Sharia and territorial ambitions for the entire world,” he added.
Robertson has apparently forgotten the crimes and murders committed in the name of Christianity, which have also destroyed the image of the religion he says to follow and the reputation of millions of true peaceful Christians around the world.
According to the Right Wing Watch, the American evangelist has previously attacked Islam as nothing more than “a religious veneer.”
Pat Robertson ran for President of the U.S. under the Republican Party in 1988. But he did so poorly in the state primaries that he quit before GOP primary nomination.
As a result of his seeking political office, he no longer serves in an official role for any church.
