Rabat –Morocco launched on Monday the second humanitarian campaign to help migrants and refugees.
The second humanitarian campaign started this Monday for some 5,000 migrants and refugees in Morocco, especially children and women.
The operation, to last from Dec.14-19, is held as Morocco marks the week of migrants in Morocco. It is a joint initiative by the Moroccan Red Crescent and the ministry in charge of Moroccans living abroad and migration affairs.
Minister in charge of Moroccans living abroad and migration affairs, Anis Birou, explained that this campaign, a token of Morocco’s traditional solidarity towards migrants, is part of the implementation of HM the King’s instructions for a humane approach to migration.
On this occasion, packages of food were distributed to recipients.
In addition, a series of education, cultural, economic, scientific, sports, social and humanitarian activities will be held for migrants and refugees as well as vocational training sessions nationwide for some 1,000 aliens.
Meanwhile, the UN nations system’s joint program for supporting the national strategy of immigration and asylum will be presented.
