Rabat – Moroccan young actress Jihane Khalil won the title of “Best Actress” in the new reality TV competition show “Arab Casting” on Saturday.
After a two-hour finale broadcast on Abu Dhabi TV, the statuesque raven-hair Khalil was named “Best Actress” garnering 83 percent of the votes, ahead of three other actresses with whom she competed in the finale, according to HuffPost Maghreb.
The up and coming actress was visibly flattered and happy for her win, which she expressed with her customary elegance on stage.
Following the finale, Jihane took on to her Instagram profile to thank “all journalists and artists” who voted for her and to “the delegation of the Moroccan Embassy that was present at the finale.”
Aspiring actors from the Arab World took the stage for 12 weeks and gave “Arab Casting’s” celebrity judges the best auditions of their life.
The jury composed of Egyptian actress Ghada Abdel Razek, Syrian actors Qusai Khouli and Basel Khayyat, and Lebanese actress Carmen Lebbos advised and graded their performances throughout the competition.
The award for “Best Actor” was won by Algerian Zoubir Belhor, who came in first with 82 percent of the votes among four male actors.
The competition was fierce due to the versatility and talent shown by the performers who gave their all to compete for the grand prize.
Khalil and Belhor were selected both by the judges and votes from the live audience and viewers at home.
According to the same source, part of the grand prize, “Arab Casting” has granted both winners the opportunity to sign a contract with Clackets Production company.
Riad Ennajar, Director of Clackets, said Khalil and Belhor will participate in the next series produced by them, as well as the following two series, where each of them will have a role.
