RabaT – The Spanish ambassador to Morocco, Ricardo Diez-Hochleitner Rodriguez, said on Thursday that his country and Morocco maintain an “exceptional cooperation” in several areas.
“Relations between Morocco and Spain are a model to follow. The two countries have an exceptional cooperation in several areas, including the management of migration flows, fight against terrorism and economic cooperation,” he told MAP in Rabat on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the diplomatic corps accredited to Morocco.
The diplomat highlighted the fundamental role played by HM King Mohammed VI and King Felipe VI in the consolidation of bilateral relations.
Nearly 33 per cent of EU exports to Morocco are from Spain while the Spanish market receives almost 40 percent of Moroccan exports to the EU, he said, noting that Spain is the largest trading partner of Morocco.
The diplomat added that nearly 800,000 Moroccans are “perfectly integrated in Spain and contribute to national development.”
