Rabat – On March 27 in Burj Park a ceremony was held to present the new logo for Dubai 2020, the next universal exposition. The logo was projected in gold lights onto Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building.
Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum unveiled the new Dubai Expo 2020 logo.
The ceremony was attended by thousands of citizens and residents of the UAE, as well as visitors from around the world.
In addition to the logo competition winner, the ruler of Dubai also honored the contest’s three finalists: Mohammed Sohail Bin Ali from Tunisia, Valerii Iintiski from Moldova and Mouza Al Mansouri from the UAE.
The theme for Dubai 2020 is “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future.” The logo was inspired by a 4,000-year-old artifact discovered at the “Saruq al-Hadid” archaeological site in the Dubai desert.
Sheikh Mohammed said, “The Expo 2020 logo represents our message to the world that our civilization has deep roots. We were and will always be a pot that gathers civilizations and a centre for innovation. Over 4,000 years ago, the people who lived in this land had a deep creative spirit and today the people of this country are building the nation’s future for centuries to come.”
The Expo 2020 will run from October 2020 to April 2021 and is expected to attract 25 million visitors to the site, which is located near Jebel Ali. Construction on the area will begin in July.
