Rabat – Morocco’s economy posted a 1.7% growth in the first quarter of 2016, compared to 5.2 % in the previous quarter, the High Commission for Planning (HCP) said.
This performance is the result of a decline in agricultural value added and an increase in non-agricultural activities (+ 2.4%), reported HCP in its quarterly note on the country’s economic situation.
On the other hand, HCP projected a 1.5% increase in the Gross domestic product (GDP) in the second quarter of 2016 compared to 4.3% in the same period last year due to a downturn of agricultural activity.
