United Nations – Morocco and the United Arab Emirates signed, on Thursday in New York, a Memorandum of understanding which provides for technical support to the Moroccan Centre of expertise on climate change.
This agreement “testifies to the continuity of cooperation between our two countries”, UAE Minister of Environment Ahmed Al Thani Zeyoudi told the press following the signing ceremony.
The minister deemed “strategic” relations between the two countries, assuring that “we are moving forward in the field of environment to consolidate the efforts of the Arab region”.
Tackling the holding in November in Marrakech of the 22th Conference of Parties to the Framework Convention of UN on Climate Change (COP22), the UAE official expressed the “full support” of his country to Morocco to succeed this conference.
“We want it to be even more successful than the Paris Conference, which will honor not only Morocco, but all Arab and regional countries”, he said.
