Rabat – A 5.3-magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale was felt on Sunday off the Atlantic Coast, said the National Institute for Geophysics.
The quake was recorded at 3.54 p.m. it said in a statement. No casualties or material damage were reported.
The tremor follows a series of earthquakes that have shaken Morocco’s Mediterranean coast in recent months.
On March 13 a 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck off the coasts of the northern cities of Al Hoceima and Nador.
