Rabat – Three wanted barons were arrested Wednesday in Tangier, as part of investigations conducted by Morocco’s Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (French acronym BCIJ).
These barons are the masterminds of an international drug trafficking network operating between Morocco and Europe, Morocco’s General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance said in a statement, adding that the arrest comes after foiling a drug trafficking attempt of 6.37 tons of cannabis resin.
Investigations will continue under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor to shed light on this criminal network and identify those involved, the statement added.
