Rabat – The official visit, which HM King Mohammed VI will pay starting Wednesday to China, heralds a new era of cooperation between Rabat and Beijing and will strengthen the strategic, comprehensive and exemplary partnership between the two countries, said Chinese Ambassador to Morocco Sun Shuzhong.
“Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Morocco in 1958, the two countries have always had good relations of cooperation and friendship,” said the Chinese diplomat in an interview with MAP ahead of King Mohammed VI’s visit to China, scheduled to take place on May 11.
The Chinese ambassador called for strengthening cooperation between the two countries, recalling that the two sides share a long history of friendship and understanding for each other’s characteristics.
“Mutual understanding is a prerequisite to mobilize all cooperation factors: investment, trade and transfer of technology,” he said.
Sun called for the promotion of cultural exchanges, especially among young people, saying that his country has set up two “Confucius” institutes in Morocco and a Chinese Center, which is still under construction.
