Rabat – During the first quarter of 2016, total tourist nights in Agadir recorded a decline. In the first quarter of 2015 there were 913,978 nights, while the same quarter in 2016 registered 818,374, a decrease of 10.46 percent.
According to the Regional Council of Tourism in Agadir, the data show that the tourist arrivals from France designated the largest number of nights with a total of 176,288 nights. However, compared to the first quarter of 2015, when there were 218,558 stays, the total number of the French overnight stays declined by 19.43 percent.
In second rank were arrivals from Germany which recorded 133,533 nights in the first quarter of 2016, while in 2015 there were 148,331 between January and late March. Therefore, a decline of 9.98 percent was registered.
Meanwhile, tourist arrivals from different Moroccan cities recorded an increase of 10.67 percent. In the first three months of 2016, the overnight stays registered 123,171 nights compared to the same period last year, in which there were only 111,293.
Additionally, there has been an increase of 1.85 percent for English tourists in Agadir. The total number of the overnight stays reached 116,589 in the first quarter of 2016, while, in the same period of 2015, there were only 114,467.
