Geneva – Morocco and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) signed on Thursday a Memorandum of Understanding on migration management, on the sidelines of the 105th International Labour Conference.
The agreement, signed by the minister of Employment and Social Affairs, Abdeslam Seddiki, and IOM’s Director General, William Lacy Swing, sets the general framework of bilateral cooperation in order to achieve the common goals.
It also defines the areas of cooperation, institutional arrangements and general conditions of this cooperation regarding the management of legal migration, the rights of migrant workers in Morocco and the rights of Moroccans residing abroad.
Bilateral cooperation also includes the development of new joint programs on professional mobility, the employability of young Moroccans and immigrants, the social rights of Moroccans living abroad and Morocco’s National Employment Strategy for the period 2015- 2025
With MAP
