Rome – A Companion went to the Prophet Muhammad and asked him, “O Prophet, I seek advice!”, the Prophet replied: ” Don’t get angry.”
Then the man asked him, “What else?”, the Prophet Muhammad replied for the second time: “Don’t get angry.” The man asked again “what else?”, and the reply again was ” don’t get angry.” Anger blights both sight and sightedness.
This moral lesson here has taught me a lot since my childhood. Anger blinds; it can blind you to see humanity in humans, divertity, wisdom, and your hidden and rich Self. Anger is the source of evil and wrong-doing.
Now, this is needed for two main reasons as a lesson:
Emotional Muslims who put heat ahead of reason, and get excited when their faith or Prophet is insulted or challenged have to learn that peace, al-Islam, has to be realized internally first. Anger blinds reason. In a Hadith of the Prophet, there is this “The first thing God created is reason.”
Faith without reason is blind, folkloric, blind identity, dogma, and serves no one else but self- contentment and egoism covered by religiosity.
Islamophobes have to also know that they are as blind as blind extremists. Being liberal or secular or Christian or Jew or whatever and also hateful or suspect of Muslims is blind and dogma, and simply is a high symptom of what we may call ignorology.
It is simply terrorism, whoever the actor might be. Gun-industry bears good responsibility in this. It kills the human in us. Submit anger to reason, support the victims and their families, defend vulnerable minorities (targeted Muslims and LGBTs in particular), and keep the good work on defending liberties, equality, and social justice. Peace. And remember ” Don’t Get Angry.”
