Rabat – The Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training has not yet authorized any private educational institution to adopt the British system of education or to teach an English language program other than the national program.
The ministry stated on Tuesday, June 21st that private educational institutions are required, before publishing any advertisement on their services, to mention on their ads and posters and documents the number and the date of the authorization which was issued to them.
Moreover, any private institution that proclaims to adopt a British educational system should ensure that the information published respects the content of the authorization, taking into consideration the cycles and educational programs they are authorized to provide, as well as the quality of diplomas granted to students.
The Ministry’s laws hope to ensure that private schools have a certain level of standardization regarding the cycles and teaching programs in order to avoid problems and that children could face in the future regarding the legalization of received school certificates, obtaining certificates after taking a transitional exam from a cycle to another, and changing between private or public schools.
The regional academies of education and training, as well as the provincial administrations of the Ministry, will provide parents and tutors with all data related to private institutions in order to learn about their true situation and to stay up to date.
