Nihal Chahbar, Best Moroccan Baccalaureate Student, Receives a 19.32

More Girls Pass Morocco’s Baccalaureate than Boys: Ministry Statistics

Rabat – The results of the 2016 baccalaureate exams were released on Tuesday. Nihal Chahbar, a girl from the Marrakesh-Safe region, received the best marks on the final exam in Morocco this year with a total grade of 19.32 out of 20.  Ms. Chahbar studied Sciences-Physiques in Al Manar high school.

The best student in 2014 was Houda Naybi, who received a 19.45; in 2015, Ynsass el Mouataz Billah achieved a 19.46 for the highest score.

High school girls tend to be more serious at their school work. None of the highest-scoring candidates in the last 3 years was a boy. According to the Ministry of Education statistics, girls accounted for 48,69% this year against 39,69% for boys.

The second best grade this year, 19.21, was also obtained by a girl, Kassab Oumaima. She studied Sciences-Physiques at a public high school called Dakhla in the Béni Mellal-Khénifra school system.
