According to Emirati media, the Emirati businessman, identified as Ahmed Al Menhali, who was on a visit, was reported by the hotel clerk when he was on the phone in Arabic.

The brutal arrest caused Al Menhali to suffer a panic attack.
They were brutal with me. They pressed forcefully on my back. I had several injuries and bled from the forceful nature of their arrest,” he was quoted by the National as saying.
The man was released afterwards after police realized their mistake.
The incident prompted the Emirati Ministry of Foreign Affairs to post a message on its Twitter account calling on Emirati citizens to avoid wearing their traditional clothing while travelling abroad.
“For citizens traveling outside the country, and in order to ensure their safety, we point out not to wear formal dress while traveling, especially in public places,” Emirati officials said in the message posted on Saturday.
