Marrakech – Justin Trudeau, Canada’s Prime Minister, has once again touched the heart of Muslim communities around the world with a simple message.
On July 5th, a video of the newly elected PM was posted on his Facebook page that wished all Muslims a happy Eid El Fitr.
In his heartfelt video message, Trudeau described this festive end of Ramadan period as “the end of a period of fasting and reflecting, spiritual discipline and renewing as well as service towards the less fortunate.”
The Prime Minister also asserted that it was an honor for him to partake in such a special tradition.
Trudeau recognizes that the Eid symbolizes the “common values that unite us; values such as empathy, generosity, discipline and respect.”
The Canadian Prime Minister also linked the Canadian Charter of Freedoms to the values present in the month of Ramadan. According to him, the values of Ramadan that are connected to the ideals of Canada are the building blocks of the freedom and strength that makes up Canada.
“In the name of our family, Sophie [Trudeau] and I send out our warmest wishes to everyone celebrating Eid El Fitr. Eid Moubarak.” Trudeau concluded.
This is not the first time Prime Minister Trudeau eloquently expresses his wishes to Muslim communities in Canada and around the world. In the beginning of Ramadan, Justin Trudeau sent out warm wishes and even broke fast with Muslim Canadians.
