Rabat - Cleveland (Ohio) – Donald Trump officially became the Republican party’s nominee for president on Tuesday night in Cleveland, Ohio, as state delegates took turns to count up the votes from the party’s 2016 primary election.

The next presidential election will take place on November 8th.
After a long and fractious primary, Trump secured the republican presidential nomination with 1,725 delegates out of the party’s 2,472 during a roll call vote at Quicken Loan Arena in Cleveland.
His son, Donald Trump Jr., announced the support of New York, ensuring Trump had the majority of delegates – 1,237 – needed for his nomination.
Donald Trump will compete against Hillary Clinton, who was due to be formally nominated at a Democratic convention next week in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
