Rabat – Bernadette Chirac, the wife of former French president Jacques Chirac, said last week that many people supported her tremendously in the death of her daughter this past April, including the Moroccan royal family.
In an interview with French Magazine Paris Match released this week, Bernadette said, “the Princess Lalla Salma invited her to spend a few days in [Morocco] to relieve the pain, and the King and his sisters invited her three times [to come to Morocco].
The former first lady of France continued expressing her gratitude to the other head of states and governments: “Number of heads of states and government supported me, including Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, Alain Juppé, Jean-Marc Ayraultn and many others,” she said. “Nicolas Sarkozy took an hour before leaving the United States to gather at my side.”
Last year, the Chirac family members spent their summer holiday in Agadir at a luxurious residence with a view on the beach, located not far from the military hospital of Agadir, that was offered to them by King Mohammed VI.
