Rabat – Moroccan authorities in the northern city of Nador arrested, Friday, seven sub-Saharan illegal migrants, suspected of deliberately setting fire to a forest and damaging public property.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the sub-Saharan illegal migrants deliberately set fire, early Friday, to a forest close to the city of Melilla to divert attention from their attempt to cross the wire fence, national police said in a statement.
The illegal migrants also threw stones against police cars, causing material damage to three vehicles, the same source added.
