Rabat – The Global Summit on Peace and Social Development (GPSD) is being held in the city of Kenitra from Saturday to next Tuesday.
The event kicked off last Saturday as a platform to bring charismatic youth from different countries together in order to discuss and share their ideas and concerns about issues related to peace and social development.
The 11-day event aims to explore solutions for youth and emerging leaders that enable them to act together as advocates for peace in a global scale.
“The idea for the summit originated with the Unit of University Leaders of Dar Lekbira. Since 2012, this group of university students has volunteered at Dar Lekbira, an association that serves children and families in difficult situations, and has run several camps focused on community building,” Maroua El Hani, public relations manager for the conference, told Morocco World News.
The event includes different activities, including conferences, discussion panels, workshops, and cultural excursions.
The annual summit offers a chance for the participants to network with government officials, researchers, young leaders, and social activists in order to benefit from their experiences.
The 2015 GPSD involved over 100 participants from 45 different countries.
