Rabat – King Mohammed VI received a congratulatory message from U.S President Barack Obama on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of the Throne Day.
In this message, Barack Obama expressed his congratulations to the Sovereign and the Moroccan people.
“As the First country to recognize the United States after our Declaration of Independence, Morocco remains one of our longest standing allies. Our mutual respect and the value we place on our relationship serves as the basis for our continued dialogue and promoting shared interests,” Obama underlined.
“We are equally committed to deepening the strategic relationship between our two countries. Our recent achievements include concluding a second Millennium Challenge Corporation compact, expanding our cooperation to counter violent extremism, and advancing our shared commitment to reduce the impact of climate change. We look to Morocco’s continued leadership on these issues and others as an important example for the region,” the US President added .
“The United States and its people take this opportunity to renew our bonds of friendship on this special day of celebration for the Moroccan people. I look forward to working together to resolve some of the most demanding issues of our generation,” Obama concluded.
