Casablanca – Moroccan boxer Hassan Saada was officially disqualified from competing in this year’s Olympic games, according to Rio 2016’s official website.
The disqualification comes after Saada was arrested on Friday, August 5th for allegedly sexually assaulting two women in the Olympic village.
Meanwhile, the Moroccan Royal Federation of Boxing has released a statement written by the Head of the Delegation, Zoubida Wissam, maintaining his innocence, stating that “the FRMB declares that the accused remains innocent until proven otherwise.”
“We confirm that two boxers were in the studio with the athlete and no one, given their rooms were open, heard any debates or complaints from any of the housekeepers. Saada has stated that the cleaning staff passed by and that they requested pins and that he gave them a few before they left,” she added.
