Rabat – The General Director of National Security (DGSN) announced that 10,000 police officers will be on duty during COP22 to ensure the security of the event.
COP22 will take place in Marrakech in November.
COP22 is an event that will discuss climate change and the additional steps that national governments can take to preserve or restore natural resources.
The officers were selected from different districts of the kingdom, and will undergo special training at the Royal Police Institute in Kenitra to prepare.
The daily newspaper Akhbar Al Yaoum, the training focuses on skills development, weight training, and new technology to ensure the safety of guests.
Some of the new technology includes hazard detection devices, which will help officers identify explosives and other weapons.
