Rabat – CNN listed Marrakech among the world’s best cities for street food due to the delicious delicacies it offers for suitable prices to locals and tourists.
Jemaa el-Fna square in Marrakesh, where street stalls are set up in a very well organized way to serve clients, offers diverse food and drink, especially at night when the city comes alive.
The place attracts many tourists and public figures.
In March 2015, Princess Lalla Salma, the King of Morocco’s consort, accompanied by her son Crown Prince Moulay Hassan and her daughter Lalla Khadija, appeared in Jamaa El-Fna Square and were served Tanjia, a special Moroccan dish made with meat and spices.
CNN said, “Marrakech is all about street food.” “You’ll find everything from freshly squeezed fruit juices to snail soup and sheep heads.” ‘’It’s a full-on feast for all the senses, and not particularly pricey,’’ it added.
In addition to food and drink stalls, Jamaa El Fna square has many storytellers, snake charmers, and musicians to show their art and thrill visitors.
The Best Cities for Street Food list also includes Bangkok, Thailand; Istanbul, Turkey; Cairo, Egypt; Dakar, Senegal; and other cities around the world that compete to attract visitors by offering various meals.
