Paris – Chairman of France-Morocco friendship group of Senate, Christian Cambon, praised, on behalf of all members of the group, Morocco’s policy against extremism, fanaticism and terrorism, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.
In a statement received Thursday by MAP, the group supports “without reservation” Morocco’s efforts in this field, calling for boosting the French-Moroccan cooperation in fighting terrorism.
“The Moroccan Sovereign, to whom the Constitution grants the title of Commander of the Faithful, has long called for the fight against jihadist fanaticism,” Cambon underlined.
He added that Morocco has developed a true religious diplomacy, especially after the terrorist attacks that hit the country in 2003.
The Mohammed VI Institute has been set up to ensure the training of imams and the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has initiated a major restructuring of the religious field, Cambon said.
