Libreville – Gabonese President Ali Bongo Ondimba was re-elected for a second term of seven years, at the end of the presidential election, held on August 27th, according to official results announced Wednesday in Libreville.
In power since 2009, Ali Bongo was re-elected with 49.80 percent of votes, against 48.23 percent for his rival Jean Ping, said the Interior Minister.
The overall voter turnout was 59.46 percent.
