Jakarta – A Moroccan tourist died Wednesday in a road accident in Bali, local authorities said on Friday.
The 27-year-old woman was driving a motorcycle in Bali along with a Serbian woman when the accident occurred, a police spokesman said, adding that the accident was probably due to a brake failure.
The motorcycle skidded off the road and fell into a 5 meters deep ravine, causing the death of the Moroccan tourist and injuring the Serbian national, the source added.
The victim, who was studying at a Japanese university, had traveled to Bali for holiday.
Morocco’s embassy in Indonesia told MAP it had started the administrative process in coordination with Indonesian authorities to repatriate the remains of the deceased to Morocco.
