Berlin – German daily “Die Welt” underlined the leadership of King Mohammed VI in the Muslim world and the sovereign’s role in the promotion of peace and coexistence values among peoples.
In an editorial on the latest speech by King Mohammed VI on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of the Revolution of the King and the People, the German daily stressed that in this regional context which is marked by unrest, Morocco is distinguished by its stability and resilience thanks to a series of reforms initiated under the leadership of the King and the sovereign’s role as commander of the faithful.
The paper underscored that the stability prevailing in Morocco, thanks to the role of the King in fighting religious fanaticism, is a shield against obscurantism and withdrawal into oneself.
“Die Welt” highlighted, in this regard, the call by the King on Muslims, Jews and Christians to join hands to counter fanaticism. This call was heard beyond the frontiers and was a clear message to all those using Islam for their own interests, it added.
