Rabat – Hamas slams an Algerian news source for lying about the existence of a Palestinian committee for solidarity with the Saharan people.
In an article posted Thursday, September 29, Algerian news source El Khabar claimed that a Palestinian committee for solidarity with Saharan people in Gaza was established earlier this month, and held its first meeting Wednesday 28.
The news source added that the committee, which consists of nine Palestinian members and nine Saharan members, released a statement in support of the “people’s right in liberation and independence” that says:
“We are surprised with the attack on the Palestinian committee for solidarity with Saharan people carried out by the Moroccan authorities. We consider the Moroccan reaction natural and expected, but it will not be a reason to withdraw from our noble goals.”
Hamas’s response to the allegation came clear and straightforward, refusing to involve the Palestinian forces of resistance in “the conflict between Algeria and Morocco.”
Hamas’ leader, Salah Al Bardawil, told the Palestinian news website Qudspress.com that Hamas emphatically denies the existence of such a committee in Gaza:
“We would not allow, and there is not, an orientation like this, there are no organizations or committees with this name, this is nonsense and it really does not exist.”
Salah Al Bardawil added: “we dissociate ourselves and our resistance from Arab-Arab conflicts, our respect for the Arab sides, and for ourselves does not allow us to get involved. Also we do not have the time for that.”
