Rabat – The archives of late Simon Levy, who passed away on Dec.2, 2011, were entrusted to “Archives du Maroc” (Morocco’s archives) thanks to a donation by the Levy family.
According to a statement by Archives du Maroc, the Levy family is contributing to enriching the national memory by entrusting to this body an important part of archives belonging to Late Simon Levy who was an outstanding professor and researcher and a leading figure of Moroccan Judaism.
This donation is a fruit of the awareness of the Levy family about the interest of private archives as a component of national collective memory, said the statement on Tuesday, noting that this gesture is meant to perpetuate the name of a famous academia member.
Jean and Jacques Levy, sons of late Simon Levy, and director of “Archives du Maroc” Jamaa Baida signed on Sept. 28 the donation agreement, it recalled.
