Rabat – The electoral campaign of the upcoming legislative elections, slated for October 7th, is taking place in normal conditions, said Tuesday in Rabat, Moroccan Interior Minister, Mohamed Hassad.
The number of complaints lodged with the public prosecutors and regional authorities do not exceed 100 during the first ten days of the campaign, against 500 during the same period of 2011 elections, Hassad told the press following a consultation meeting of the government Commission for monitoring elections with political parties.
The electoral meetings held as part of this poll increased by 50 pc compared to 2011 elections and multiplied by four with regard to the Moroccan general elections of 2007, Hassad said, noting that these figures reflect a significant improvement in the conduct of the electoral process.
The Minister stressed that Morocco advance, in each electoral event, towards a more positive climate, calling on citizens to massively participate in the upcoming elections.
