Rabat – A policeman at the Charif El Idrissi airport in the northeastern city of Al Hoceima was temporarily suspended after a judiciary investigation into a case of drug trafficking attempt.
The suspect was remanded in custody following an investigation conducted by the Royal Gendarmerie after the seizure of a quantity of drugs in the suitcases of a Belgian national of Moroccan origin who was travelling abroad, said the national police (DGSN) in a statement.
It added that all necessary administrative measures will be taken against this policeman, who was in charge of scanner control in the airport, in accordance with the results of the investigation underway, led under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.
