Casablanca, Morocco — A Sidi Bernoussi high school teacher was attacked by two students this week after he asked them to leave a sports field they were at without permission.
According to Moroccan news publication Assabah, the two students had refused to leave the sports field, where they weren’t scheduled to have class, after the teacher asked them to. The high schoolers, refusing to cooperate, reportedly insulted the teacher, in front of other students, before things escalated.
Despite numerous attempts by bystanders to calm the students, tensions rose and the teacher was attacked numerous times to the face. When other high school officials heard the commotion outside, they ran out to the field, but the two high schoolers had already fled the scene.
The director of the high school has since brought the matter to the police and has pressed charges against the two students, citing “aggression towards a school official.” In response, the crown prosecutor ordered their incarceration at the Oukacha rehabilitation center
