Casablanca – Popular Moroccan Singer Saad Lamjarred, who was arrested on Wednesday the 26 on charges of sexual assault, was brought to court Friday afternoon where the judge will soon declare a verdict.
Lamjarred faces the judge this afternoon after a 20-year-old French woman accused him of “sexual assault” earlier this week. On Friday the 28, “Le Monde” reported that Lamjarred was found to be under the influence of cocaine and alcohol.
Standing outside the court room today are a few of the singer’s supporters, impatiently awaiting the results of the judge’s ruling. Amongst them is his father, Moroccan artist Bachir Abdou, who told French publication “AtlasInfo” that “This is the will of God. It is destiny. I hope from the bottom of my heart that there will be a happy ending.”
Saad Lamjarred is being defended by three lawyers on site. French authorities should publish a statement by the end of Friday afternoon revealing the decision of the judge.
Lamjarred could be charged with “aggravated rape” and “voluntary violence.”
