Casablanca – Saad Lamjarred’s appeal review was moved to next week, according to an article published by Le360.
Lamjarred was arrested last Wednesday after a 20-year-old French woman accused him of “aggravated sexual assault.”
The exact date of the appeals review has not yet been set by the magistrate of the Paris court.
According to Le360, Lamjarred’s lawyers have been scheduled to visit the singer at the Fleury-Merogis prison where he is currently held. His mother, Moroccan actress Nezha Regragui, is also in Paris since Tuesday, in support of her son.
According to Brahim Rachidi, one of Lamjarred’s lawyers, the defense will prove to the judge that the alleged victim’s accusation is unfounded.
According to an article by French publication “Le Monde,” the singer was reportedly under the influence of cocaine and alcohol. It was also reported that the 20-year-old in question had told the police that she had willingly accompanied the singer to two nightclubs and into his hotel that night. All of these facts will likely be brought up in court next week.
